Reports to: Head of Treasury 

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • The Treasury Sales Manager will be responsible for leading a team to drive growth in treasury products (FX, money markets and liquidity solutions) targeting corporate, SME, and Retail clients. Act as a treasury product partner to Corporate and Retail Relationship Managers and formulate treasury sales strategies aimed at increasing banks’ forex position in the market by building a strong customer base.

Scope of Duties:

  • Identify and engage prospective clients to generate treasury business through consultative selling.
  • Maintain and deepen relationships with existing clients and branch/relationship managers to cross‑sell treasury products.
  • Develop and execute sales plans to meet revenue and profitability targets.
  • Drive portfolio growth through prospecting, client calls, and strategic outreach.
  • Understand the competition’s capabilities and gaps to better position Bank of Africa solutions.
  • Analyze local and global market data, trends, and drivers to advise internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Prepare and distribute market commentary and participate in client meetings to share insights.
  • Consult with clients to understand needs and propose customized treasury solutions.
  • Conduct periodic portfolio reviews and update internal stakeholders on client progress
  • Collaborate with front-office partners (relationship managers, credit, risk, product teams) to ensure seamless onboarding and service delivery.
  • Manage the sales process to include proposals and implementation.
  • Oversee and support to ensure pricing accuracy and deal capture.
  • Convey client feedback to product teams for enhancement and innovation.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Treasury Sales Dealers; monitor performance and ensure compliance.
  • Conduct training sessions and product updates for branch staff and RMs
  • Ensure all deals comply with internal policies, regulatory frameworks, and credit/risk limits.

Technical Know How:

  • Sufficient knowledge & understanding of the Foreign Exchange Market.
  • Risk management techniques.
  • Banking techniques and operations (incl. Trade operations & credit facilities).
  • High level of personal integrity, positive and flexibility towards changing markets environment.
  • Out-going, self-motivated, assertive and proactive.
  • Possess strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • A good understanding of sales techniques, marketing and relationship management.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Professional skills & Experience:

  • University degree in Commerce, Finance, Statistics or Mathematics or any related field.
  • Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
  • ACI Dealing Certificate.
  • A minimum 3 years in progressive experience in a busy Treasury environment.
  • A good understanding of Balance Sheet Management Matrix, Forex and Derivatives Products, Financial Market Trends, Bond and Debt Instruments and Financial Forecasts.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft products especially use of excel for financial modelling, Refinitiv machines.
